| The asbestos sub-committee of the all-party
Parliamentary group on occupational safety and health wants a national
strategy, says John Battle, Labour MP for Leeds West.
"Ten years ago, we were all saying 'You have HIV or Aids, you die.'
Now, not only can we extend life, we can mitigate the worst effects so
people don't suffer appallingly. With mesothelioma, people die a terrible
death in agony. We can't leave them to suffer alone."
