| John Battle MP for Leeds West is delighted to call in
at Kwik Save on Armley Town Street at 3.30 pm on Friday 6th April to view
the results of a £100,000 investment in the store. The supermarket
has been revamped making it lighter and brighter, with the staff in new
uniforms and with improved career development training.
Most importantly this investment demonstrates Somerfield's commitment
to maintaining local Kwik Save stores, despite initial fears that they
would sell off smaller shops and concentrate on large out of town sites.
John Battle says:
"It is very important to the people of Armley, and indeed parts
of Wortley and Bramley to keep Armley Town Street alive as a local high
street with a variety of shops available. Not everyone in my constituency
has a car or the means to travel to the larger supermarkets in the area,
and Kwik Save is ideal for those people and also for others who just want
to do a small "shop" locally. I am very pleased that Kwik Save
have made this commitment to Armley, and am looking forward to seeing
the improvements to the store."
