John Battle MP Praises West Leeds Plans |
John attended the West Leeds District Partnership planning event at Stanningley ARLFC, on Friday 21 January. “This was a really encouraging morning,” he said. “Day in and day out the work is going on in West Leeds, building community and economic development. Now there seems to be real strategic focus and good teamwork from different agencies working together – already many groups on the ground do work well in partnership to deliver more for local people, groups like West Leeds Healthy Living Network, BARCA, West Leeds Family Learning Centre, Bramley Elderly Action, West Leeds Primary Care Trust, West Leeds Homes, the police, schools and Leeds City Council. “Transport, enterprise and skills, crime, and the condition of our environment are the central concerns made to me by the people I represent, and all are well and truly on the agenda. We’ve now got to come up with clearer solutions and a programme of action but it was a most encouraging start – and everyone present was committed to getting out and listening to local people, consulting the community, people of all ages, about their views and their hopes and plans for their area. “I was very pleased to see West Leeds is firmly on the map and attracting real attention.” The West Leeds District Partnership brings together public, voluntary
