John Battle MP for Leeds West attended the anniversary
celebrations of neighbourhood action, a charitable group supporting
the elderly in Farnley, New Farnley and Moor Top. Speaking at the 2nd
year anniversary celebration.
John Battle MP said
“Neighbourhood action acts as a vital source of
support for the elderly in my constituency providing a wide range of
activities to the elderly some of whom are in their 90’s. Its
important that we support groups like neighbourhood action. I am delighted
they are celebrating their 2nd year anniversary and wish them many more
years of success. I hear from so many of my constituents about how much
they enjoy the wide range of activities offered by the neighbourhood
action group.”
Neighbourhood action supports the elderly with a wide range of activities
ranging from gentle exercise classes, tai chi, inter-generational outing,
health fairs, befriending, support forums, IT classes and walking groups.
They are supported by 13 volunteers and 2 part-time staff and are a
registered charitable trust.
