‘Vote West Leeds!’ says MP Battle

Local MP John Battle has urged West Leeds residents to show their support for local projects by voting in the regional People’s Millions TV contest for Lottery funding.

Two West Leeds projects have made it through to the final where they will go head-to-head on ITV Yorkshire in a bid to secure public support by phone vote.

One of the finalists, St Bartholomew’s C of E Primary School in Armley, is hoping to develop a large field behind the school into a space that the whole community can benefit from. Barca-Leeds in Bramley want to secure funding to redevelop the lower level of a church building into an information centre for young people.

John Battle said: “This is a great opportunity to show our support for these projects from the local community in West Leeds – and I hope others will join me in voting for them to win the TV contest.”
The contest will be on 26 November for St Bartholomew’s and on 29 November for Barca-Leeds at 6.30pm on ITV.
