in Leeds West are among the country's most improved schools and are set
to receive a cash boost of thousands of pounds. The money can be paid

Greenhill Primary School
Lawns Park Primary School
Lower Wortley Primary School

(varying from £5,000 to £10,000).
John Battle Says:
"I am delighted that so many of Leeds West's schools have gained this
award and I welcome the extra investment from the government," said John
Battle MP. "These awards recognise schools' achievement in raising standards
- based on the hard work and dedication of all their staff." The awards
go to schools where pupil performance in 2001 is substantially better
than 1998, schools that have come out of special measures in 2000/1 school
year, and schools where pupil performance in 2001 was better than the
majority of schools in similar circumstances." |
