John Battle joins Raynville Primary School breakfast club for Children in NeedJohn Battle, Labour MP for Leeds West, backed Children in Need at the Breakfast Club at Raynville Primary School in Bramley, on Friday 19 November.

Raynville Primary held a special Bring Your Teddy to Breakfast event to raise money for Children in Need, with children, staff and visitors all bringing a favourite teddy, and members of staff in teddy bear costumes.

“I’m very happy to visit Raynville Primary’s excellent breakfast club once again,” said John Battle MP, “just one of the many imaginative activities that make this such a superb school – they do a fantastic job for their pupils and for the local community. And I’m glad to support Children in Need – I do urge people to support this excellent cause by phoning the donations hotline on 0845 733 2233, giving at a Post Office, bank or building society, or visiting the Children in Need Website at www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/ and giving online.”John Battle joins Raynville Primary School breakfast club for Children in Need

Head Teacher Su Edwards said, “The children enjoy our breakfast club very much and we decided Bring Your Teddy to Breakfast would be a fun and healthy activity to raise money for Children in Need.

“We usually have 40 or so children to breakfast, with fruit juice, toast, milk and cereal.”

The school recently won a Leeds Healthy Schools Award, Level 2, for the quality of its food – including breakfast – as well as sports and PE, cleanliness and health education. They have also just won a Level 1 Stephen Lawrence Award for racial equality and inclusion.
