John Battle MP visits reservoir with Yorkshire Water Chairman

Farnley ReservoirJohn Battle MP for Leeds West has invited John Napier, Executive Chair of Yorkshire Water and Hedley Salt, Assistant to the Chair to join him on a walk round Farnley Balancing Reservoir, to discuss proposals for the reservoir.

Mr Battle works closely with the local group Friends of Farnley Reservoir, and wants to discuss some of their concerns and queries with the people in charge.

The reservoir, despite its urban position adjacent to the ring road supports a wealth of wildlife - a survey taken over a few years found 77 different species of bird spotted at the site, of which 27 species use the site and surrounding areas for breeding.

The Friends of Farnley Reservoir are keen to see some changes to enhance the habit for wildlife and Mr Battle wants to discuss their ideas with the Chair and Assistant to the Chair, and to talk to them about the reservoir as a local amenity, which whilst not being one of Yorkshire's Water's largest or most important sites is a valuable resource to the people and wildlife in the area.
