| John Battle MP for Leeds West will be at Bramley Community
Centre at 2.00 pm on Saturday 28th April to launch Spring into Spring.
This is a campaign to encourage elderly people to exercise regularly in
order to help prevent falls.
Mr Battle will launch the event in his capacity as a patron of Bramley
Elderly Action, a very active, caring charity in the Bramley area.
There is great concern about the rate of falling amongst elderly people,
and the fact that following a fall the elderly can lose confidence, and
become increasingly disabled. It has been proved that regular exercise
can reverse this process.
It has been proved that regular exercise can reverse this process. The
Spring into Spring event will offer taster sessions in Tai Chi, Yoga,
Dance and Gentle Exercise. There will also be an opportunity to talk to
nurses and occupational therapists.
John Battle says:
"I always get a great welcome at Bramley Elderly Action events,
and am only too delighted to be able to support this campaign organised
by Bramley Elderly Action, and funded by the Primary Care Group Falls
Prevention Initiative."
