joined disability charity John Grooms in a campaign for equal housing
rights.
Pictured on College Green outside Parliament with John Grooms campaigners,
the MP said, “The central point of this campaign is that too many
disabled people say that finding a house they can live in easily and be
mobile in is like a lucky dip.
“In another aspect of life, the Government are funding free off-peak
bus travel for all people with a disability – this will start next
April. But there’s more to be done to provide decent homes for people
with disabilities, and I’m very happy to support the campaign today.”
“Is it too much to ask to live somewhere that I can move around,
see my friends and come and go as I please?,” said a John Grooms
spokesman. “We are campaigning for 300,000 more wheelchair accessible
houses nationwide.”
