MP Welcomes NICE Decision On Alimta

John Battle MP for Leeds West has welcomed the decision by NICE to allow sufferers of Mesothelioma access to Alimta, a drug that helps ease their suffering.

Following pressure from the MP, and Early Day Motions on the issue, John Battle said: “I welcome this decision. The use of Alimta had been a postcode lottery which has now been dismantled and now any person suffering from Mesothelioma has access to the new drug to help them ease their condition. Most people do not realise that suffering that Mesothelioma sufferers go through and this will go to help ease some of their pain. This is a welcome decision, we can now focus on our campaign to restore support for asbestos sufferers with pleural plaques on their lungs.”
