John Battle in West Leeds

John Battle has represented Leeds West since 1987. John is very active in the Constituency and manages to attend Leeds West Labour Party's General Management Committee Meetings. At these meetings he gives a verbal and written report about current events and answers questions.

John also sends a written report to all members on a quarterly basis.Fridays and weekends John regularly visits schools, projects, community groups and workplaces in the Constituency.

John also has regular meetings with the local Councillors and the leader of the Council about issues involving Leeds West.

John Battle’s Advice Leaflets

John Battle has published two help and advice leaflets for people living in West Leeds.  The first leaflet is to give advice about debt and affordable credit during these difficult economic times, including who to go to for help and support.  The second is a guide that provides information and contact details about support services in West Leeds for older people and their carers.  If you would like free copies of either of these publications please contact the office on 0113 2310258. 

There is a strict convention at Westminster that Members of Parliament cannot intervene in matters affecting the constituents of other Members. In normal circumstances, therefore, John will only be able to pursue matters raised by his own constituents.
