John battle has topped the list of local MPs with the highest percentage of attendance at parliamentary votes in 2008/09 session.
The table showed that John Battle MP for Leeds West had attended 83.3% of divisions in the house. The figures published by the House of Commons library also showed John Battle had signed 318 EDM’s, and 139 written questions. Well above the average for other MPs. Commenting on his recent activity John Battle said “whilst I am standing down at the election, I am continuing to ensure that I don’t stop representing the needs of Leeds West and my constituents. I’ve continued the activity in this session of parliament and have recently tabled nearly 400 written parliamentary questions and am holding a Westminster hall debate next week on the contribution of Leeds to the UK economy to ensure that we continue to raise the profile of this city.”
