Catching the Loan Sharks |
| Following the recent conviction of 2 loan sharks in Manchester and Newcastle Courts, one charging borrowers over 2140% interest and making £3 million on 1,200 clients, John Battle said on BBC Radio Leeds this week, “While I’m glad they have been caught and convicted, which itself sends a clear warning signal to other lenders, I still believe we need to cap all interest rates charged at 30%.
