Visit the Macmillan Cancer Relief websiteJohn Battle performed at the Macmillan Cancer Relief Parliamentary Palace of Varieties on 31 January, playing the guitar and long-necked mandolin and singing, duetting with Margaret Beckett on an old English folk song ‘Close to the Wind’ and following it with Leonard Cohen’s ‘That’s No Way to Say Goodbye.’

MPs and Peers get an annual chance to show off their unexpected talents at the Palace of Varieties, now in its fourth year. They raised over £60,000 last year.

“It’s a very good event and I’m very glad to be able to raise money to help Macmillan care for people in the UK living with cancer,” said John Battle. "Leeds Macmillan Appeal are still taking donations on 0113 206 4082."
