John supports the RSPCA's tethered horses campaign - he went out to see
for himself along with RSPCA Regional Manager Alan Wolinsky, based in
Bramley.
At the moment the RSPCA can intervene when a horse is suffering, but
they can't act if a horse is only in a situation likely to cause suffering
- such as being tethered in one place for too long, somewhere without
shelter in bad weather, with a very heavy chain, or by a busy roadside.
Every
year, several hundred people contact the RSPCA with concerns about badly
tethered horses they've seen, but until the law is changed, in most cases,
they cannot act in time. John is campaigning to change the law.
