The new building will include a new operations centre for Sure Start Bramley, a large children’s room with play area and facilities, and a large training room for up to thirty people. The new building will be joined to the Fairfield Community Centre which is being completely refurbished. “I’m very glad to be cutting the sod for this new building today,” said John Battle. “It’s excellent news for the Fairfield and for Bramley as a whole – a real example of Government investing imaginatively at the grassroots in our community. Sure Start Bramley already do excellent work – who could forget a project named Men Behaving Dadly – and when this building is finished they will be able to offer even more to our youngsters and their families.”
“But we’re already putting on a good range of activities for parents and toddlers around Bramley this autumn – call us on 0113 255 7755 to find out more,” she added. Or email info@surestartbramley.co.uk The Community Centre will be run by local residents through the Fairfield Community Partnership. Parents, Fairfield Community Partnership, Councillors Ted Hanley and Janet Harper, the Managing Director of contractors Parkside, and local residents attended.
